Edit: I am working on yet another version of this. This isn't user friendly enough. (1-4-2016)

It's probably a bit early to be posting this since I may still make adjustments, but this is my idea for a very easy to use yet complex photo editing and drawing software. I was trying hard to make everything look easy to use but still open the advanced tools for the advanced users. I didn't bother add a picture in the artboard or layers since I'm mainly focusing on the interface and tools. I have the tool option bar in an underlying of gray so it doesn't confuse with the shortcut bar above. I also wanted to show the features that I personally like such as the ability to group layers an an accordion type fashion. The option panel is closed by default because I don't want it to overwhelm users, but it's there for advanced users. As you can tell, vector graphics are also supported. That's exactly what the Fill and Stroke tab is for.

Now I don't know if it's possible, but an idea that I want to share is the ability for bitmaps and vectors to work on the same layer. Some tools would have to be limited though. The R layers (Raster) would contain both vector and bitmap. The V layers (Vector) would contain straight out vector graphics where bitmap cannot join. In Photoshop, I find that some bitmap tools like Dodge, Heal, Smudge, and Sponge, are sometimes needed for cartoon drawings, yet a vectored smooth outline is also needed. So I introduced a new tool that can be used in the R layers: The Magic Vector Brush, but it can only create the linework for compatible reasons. It can later be edited in the stroke section of the Fill and Stroke tab, and the points can be edited. If any fills were created inside the enclosed linework and then it opens up, the fill will be gone (similar to live paint in Illustrator).

So this is my idea for a new photo editing and drawing software. Let me know what you think.

Interface looks really clean and functional. About that vector/raster idea, I'd love to see it become real! Even though Photoshop supports very basic vector tools, they aren't really powerful
Another thing I like is the hex code at the bottom of the color selection box
Only one suggestion, instead of going for a color bar as in the concept, you could use hue/saturation sliders. Would allow you to select more colors as well as looks better and more compact.
In short, looks fantastic! :D
